Travis Crook is the New Weddle Dirty Dozen Champ

Barstow, CA — The new year waits for no one and the MORE season got off to an early bang. The MORE Slash X Duel in the Desert, historically run as a March season opener, went down on January 17. Included at the Duel in the Desert was the first 2026 Weddle Shootout Series event, the Weddle Dirty Dozen, a special event for Class 12 racers.

January mornings in the desert are a chilly affair. Temps were in the 30's as race teams gathered near the Slash X Ranch Cafe just south of Barstow. This year's Weddle Dirty Dozen consisted of two races on separate loops. Winners were determined by fastest combined times.

The sun eventually warmed up the winter desert and a new Weddle Dirty Dozen Champ emerged. When the dust settled, Travis Crook was the man on top to become the 2026 Weddle Dirty Dozen Champ driving Weddle-equipped 1264. 1281 Trevor Nichols landed the second spot and 1210 Terry Jeffers snagged the third spot on the Class 12 Dirty Dozen podium.

The Weddle Dirty Dozen was a great start to the 2026 Weddle Shootout Series. The remixed 2026 MORE and Weddle Shootout Series schedule continues with the TJ Craig Memorial Weddle Sweet 16 Shootout. The Class 1600 event gets a bump up on this year's schedule. It will be going down at the LEGACY+ MORE Battleground, April 18-19 in Laughlin, NV. See you there!

Weddle Industries is prouder than ever to support grassroots desert racing.
